A premier luxury dealership in Suffolk County, NY is hiring an experienced Used Car Sales Manager / Pre-Owned Sales Manager to lead and grow its pre-owned department. This isn’t a rebuild—it’s an opportunity to step into a solid operation and maximize its full potential. The Pre-Owned Sales Manager hired will have strong support from upper management who handles inventory acquisition, pricing, and wholesaling so the Pre-Owned Sales Manager can stay focused on driving sales and performance. The successful candidate is a Used Car Sales Manager who is a true leader and someone who can create consistency, energize the team, and drive results—not just maintain the status quo.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Automotive Sales Manager who is ready to take a hands-on approach to ensure vehicles are sold and customers are satisfied. This role will focus primarily on used cars, though all Sales Managers will collaborate to lead a successful variable operations department. Together, they will aim to build a strong sales team, achieve high customer satisfaction (CSI), drive growth, and ensure every lead is pursued.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a proven track record in automotive sales leadership (luxury background preferred)
- Maintain a strong, polished, and professional presence when working with clientele
- Lead with urgency, energy, and accountability to drive team performance
- Implement and enforce a process-driven approach focused on consistency and execution
- Bring a growth mindset—continuously pushing the business forward, not just maintaining it
- Conduct morning meetings to set daily goals and maintain team motivation – ensure sales reps know what used car inventory is on the lot and coach them on how to sell that inventory
- Exhibit a positive and proactive leadership style.
- Utilize CRM technology to maximize all potential sales opportunities.
- Perform next-day follow-ups to save potential deals and convert qualified leads.
- Desk deals and help close used car transactions daily
- Appraise trade-ins and structure deals effectively
- Drive pre-owned sales volume, gross, and team performance
- Ensure sales team is presenting and prioritizing used inventory
- Enforce consistent CRM usage and follow-up processes
- Conduct 1:1 sales training with the sales team
- Other duties as assigned
Compensation / Benefits:
- Compensation range will be in the $150,000 – $200,000 range based on experience and performance, with room for growth.
